For most of my life I have kept to myself. My nature is not to jump in and stir the pot. I have worked hard, obeyed the laws, and done my best to live peaceably with those around me. However, it has become clear, this is not enough. As Edmund Burke famously said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” … and if you look around and see what I see — evil is prevailing.
Now is the time for me to step out of my comfort zone and stand up for what is right. It is time to lead by example. It is time to put to work what I know to be true, right, noble and enduring. It is time to be strong and courageous. If not now, then when? Our Republic is quickly sliding away and Oregon continues to lead the way on the road to statism. However with strong leadership that believes in God the Creator and His endowment of our natural, unalienable rights (life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness) and through limited government, we can once again restore the luster of this great State and nation. The State of Oregon will never achieve greatness with a big, intrusive and dominating government. Oregon will only be great when Oregonians are free to return to their pioneering roots — where personal responsibility, privacy and private property are respected — and as a result prosper.
Therefore I stand firm; ready to go to Salem and fight for equality under the law, not preferential treatment for a few. I stand for simple and fair taxation, not redistribution of wealth, for the freedom to choose the right education for our children and not have those choices dictated to us by the State. I stand for an energy policy that follows a path of common sense and affordability, not special interests. I stand for the decline of Administrative Rule and the resurgence of individual sovereignty.
Will you join me? I promise to fight for the values of our founding fathers, which made America a shining city on a hill for all to admire around the world. Together, we can make Klamath & Lake Counties the best in the State. Together, we can make Oregon the best state in the Union.
